Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Claim Six-Month Readiness for War Against Israel and the U.S.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that the country is prepared to sustain a high-intensity conflict with Israel and the United States for at least six months.
IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini told Fars News Agency that the force “has the ability to continue a full-scale war for six months without interruption.”

Established in 1979 after Iran’s Islamic Revolution, the IRGC is an elite branch of Iran’s military tasked with defending the regime and national interests. It operates separately from the conventional military, with dedicated funding, intelligence networks, and advanced operational capabilities.

Tensions escalated further on February 28, 2026, when Israel and the United States carried out coordinated strikes on Iranian targets. France 24 reported that Israel targeted senior IRGC commanders at the Ramada Hotel near Rawche in Beirut, killing four and wounding ten. Israel described the operation as aimed at eliminating top IRGC leadership.

In response, the Israeli military said its air defense systems intercepted two missiles launched from Iran toward Haifa, prompting alerts for residents to take shelter. No details on casualties or property damage from the missiles have been released.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran has no option but to defend itself. “If Iran’s enemies attempt to strike our territory or use other countries as a launchpad, we will respond,” he said. “This is a defensive action, not an act of aggression toward any civilian population.”

The ongoing conflict has already affected global energy markets, driving oil prices up by more than 10% since the attacks began. The situation highlights the growing volatility in the region as both Israel and the U.S. remain engaged militarily against Iran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has declared that the country is capable of sustaining six months of intense conflict against Israel and the United States, acting together.
The IRGC is fully capable of continuing a high-intensity war for at least six months without pause.
