Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu has expressed admiration for Paul Kagame, saying the Rwandan president is a visionary leader whose governance continues to inspire many people across Africa and around the world.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Rabiu said he had the opportunity to meet President Kagame on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris, France.“I was pleased to have a conversation with President Paul Kagame on the sidelines of the summit,” Rabiu wrote.
He added that Kagame’s visionary leadership, dedication to Rwanda’s development, and commitment to national progress continue to motivate many people not only in Africa but also globally.
Rabiu further described Kagame as a strong example of the kind of outstanding leadership that is helping shape a better future for the African continent while highlighting the vast opportunities Africa holds.
Abdul Samad Rabiu is one of Africa’s most prominent billionaires. He is the founder and chairman of BUA Group, a conglomerate involved in several industries including cement production, sugar refining, edible oils, agriculture, and construction materials.
According to the March 2026 rankings by Forbes, Rabiu’s net worth is estimated at more than $11.2 billion, making him the third-richest person in Africa.
Beyond business, Rabiu is also widely known for his philanthropic work through ASR Africa, a charity foundation he established to support education, healthcare, and social welfare projects across several African countries.
Rabiu previously served as chairman of Bank of Industry and has received several national honors in Nigeria, including Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
