President Donald Trump has said that U.S. forces “obliterated” Iranian military targets on Kharg Island, an important oil hub located off the southwest coast of Iran. He also warned that oil infrastructure on the island could be targeted next as the conflict escalates.

According to Iranian authorities, the warning followed a series of American strikes on Kharg Island, which hosts one of Iran’s largest oil export terminals.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded by informing the United Arab Emirates that what it called U.S. “hideouts” in the region are legitimate targets, raising fears that the conflict could spread further across the Gulf.

Meanwhile, reporters in Tehran said huge explosions shook central parts of the city after thousands of people gathered for rallies in support of Palestinians and to protest against attacks carried out by the United States and Israel.

Since the war began on February 28, 2026, U.S.–Israeli strikes have reportedly killed nearly 1,450 people in Iran, according to regional reports. The conflict has also spread beyond Iran.

In Lebanon, an Israeli strike on a health centre in the south killed 12 medics, pushing the total number of deaths in the country from Israeli attacks to 773 people, including 103 children.

Across the Gulf region, governments have begun issuing security alerts. Countries such as Qatar and Bahrain have warned residents about possible escalation and evacuation measures as Iran continues launching missile and drone attacks.

The growing hostilities have increased concerns that the conflict could disrupt oil supplies and further destabilize the Persian Gulf region.
