Israeli strikes on Iran on March 20, 2026, have reportedly killed the spokesperson of the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Iranian state media.
The official, Ali Mohammad Naini, a Brigadier General, had served in the IRGC for nearly four decades and had been its spokesperson for the past two years, as reported by Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with the force.
The killing comes amid continued exchanges of fire between Iran and Israel, as tensions between the two nations remain high.
The attack coincided with a significant moment in Iran, as many citizens marked the beginning of the new year 1405 under the Solar Hijri calendar, a widely observed national celebration.
The latest development underscores the intensifying conflict between the two sides, with senior military figures increasingly becoming targets in the ongoing confrontation.
