Gabriel Magalhães has withdrawn from the Brazil national football team squad ahead of upcoming international friendlies due to a knee injury.

The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed that the Arsenal defender is experiencing pain in his right knee following their Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City. Medical scans determined he is not fit to participate in matches against France national football team and Croatia national football team during this international window.

Gabriel becomes the fifth Arsenal player to pull out of international duty after the final at Wembley.

His defensive partner William Saliba will also miss France’s friendlies due to an ankle injury that requires at least 10 days of rest, according to the French Football Federation.

Other Arsenal players sidelined include Jurrien Timber, who is recovering from an ankle issue, and Eberechi Eze, who is dealing with a calf injury sustained in a Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Leandro Trossard has also withdrawn from the Belgium national football team squad due to a hip problem, despite making progress in his recovery.

With several key players unavailable, Arsenal will be hoping to have them fit again before returning to action on April 4 in an FA Cup quarter-final clash against Southampton.
