Conflicting Claims Over US-Iran Talks as Strikes Continue

Donald Trump has announced that the United States is engaged in discussions with Iran to explore the possibility of a broader agreement, saying Tehran is now serious about reaching peace.

However, Iranian officials have strongly denied any such negotiations. The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament dismissed the claims as “fake news,” accusing Washington of using them to influence global financial and oil markets.

Following Trump’s statement and his decision to delay planned attacks on Iran’s power plants by five days, global oil prices dropped by around 11 percent, reflecting market optimism over a possible de-escalation.

Despite the diplomatic rhetoric, military tensions remain high. United States Central Command confirmed that American forces continue to carry out strikes on targets inside Iran.

At the same time, Iran has intensified its response, launching missiles and drones targeting Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait overnight.

The situation highlights a widening gap between public diplomatic messaging and ongoing military operations, as the region remains on edge.
