The YouTube channel of Rwandan artist Ross Kana has sparked confusion on social media after being hacked by unknown individuals who used it to broadcast content related to the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The incident became widely noticeable on the night of Sunday, March 22, 2026, around 9 PM, when fans began observing unusual changes on the channel. However, reports indicate that the issue may have started earlier in the afternoon.
Although the channel still displayed the name Ross Kana, users who clicked on its videos found themselves watching live broadcasts and news content from American media, particularly Fox News.
The content mainly focused on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, including reports that Donald Trump was expected to address the public regarding developments in the war.
In a brief interview with The Choice Live, Ross Kana confirmed that his channel had been compromised by unknown hackers. He stated that he is currently working with different partners and YouTube to recover it.
“I experienced a channel hack, but we are doing everything possible to get it back soon,” he said.
This incident highlights the growing trend of cyberattacks targeting high-profile accounts, especially those with large followings, which are often exploited to spread unrelated or misleading information.
Experts in cybersecurity note that such attacks are rarely accidental and are usually carried out using well-planned techniques. One of the most common methods is phishing, where victims receive messages disguised as official communication from platforms like YouTube, prompting them to click malicious links or provide sensitive login details.
Another tactic involves malware hidden in files such as music, contracts, or software. Once opened, these files can give hackers access to personal accounts.
Additionally, using weak passwords or the same password across multiple platforms increases vulnerability. The lack of two-factor authentication (2FA) also makes it easier for attackers to gain unauthorized access.
The hacking of Ross Kana’s channel reflects a broader global issue, as cybercriminals increasingly target popular digital platforms in an effort to exploit their reach and influence.
