President Sassou N’Guesso Receives Message from Rwanda’s Paul Kagame

President of on Wednesday received Rwanda’s Minister of Internal Security, , who delivered a message from President .

The message conveyed congratulations and best wishes following Sassou N’Guesso’s re-election for a fifth term in office after the March 15, 2026 presidential election, in which he secured 94.82% of the vote.

In the same message, President Kagame also requested his Congolese counterpart’s support for , Rwanda’s candidate for Secretary-General of the (OIF).

Mushikiwabo, who has led the organization since 2019, is seeking a third term at the helm.

During the meeting, President Sassou N’Guesso and Minister Biruta also discussed strengthening bilateral relations between their two countries, which already maintain cooperation in diplomatic and political affairs.

At 82 years old, Sassou N’Guesso remains one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, and his recent re-election has drawn congratulatory messages from several leaders, including President Kagame, who shared his message via social media platform X.
