The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has stated that the ongoing conflict involving the U.S. and Iran could end very soon, hinting at major developments expected within the next two days.
Speaking to ABC News, Trump said he believes the situation may change quickly, suggesting that the coming days could bring significant progress toward ending the war.
“I think you’re going to see two very amazing days,” Trump said, expressing optimism that the conflict might conclude sooner than expected.
Meanwhile, the U.S. has continued tightening restrictions on vessels linked to Iran, particularly those passing through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Since Monday, at least eight ships connected to Iran have reportedly been stopped as part of these measures.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global shipping route, carrying nearly 20% of the world’s petroleum supply. Since the conflict began on February 28, 2026, the route has faced disruptions, causing global oil prices to surge to nearly double their previous levels.
Diplomatic efforts are also underway. Talks between officials from Iran and the United States are expected to resume in Pakistan this week after earlier discussions lasting 21 hours ended on April 12 without a breakthrough.
The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, said there is still hope that negotiations could produce results given the current progress in discussions.
Washington is pushing for Iran to abandon its nuclear program and demonstrate a commitment not to pursue nuclear weapons in the future. However, Tehran has so far rejected these demands.
Despite proposals for a two-week ceasefire to ease tensions, Trump indicated that such a pause might not be necessary if the conflict comes to an end quickly.
“I think it could end very soon,” Trump said. “It will end soon.”
