Arda Güler Scores Stunning Long-Range Goal as Real Madrid Beat Elche

Arda Güler, the Turkish midfielder for Real Madrid, scored a remarkable goal during their match against Elche CF, setting a new milestone in the history of La Liga for one of the longest-range goals ever recorded.

The goal was scored from an incredible distance of 68 meters from Elche’s goal. At the time, Elche goalkeeper Matías Dituro had moved far off his line, allowing Güler to launch a powerful shot from distance that sailed into the net.

With this strike, Güler equals the record set by Antonio José, who also scored from 68 meters in 2004 while playing for CD Numancia against Sevilla FC.

The goal also becomes the longest-range goal scored by a Real Madrid player in 31 years, surpassing the previous mark set by Mikel Lasa, who scored from 58 meters in 1995.

Beyond this record, Güler has already achieved several milestones in his young career. On June 18, 2024, he became the youngest player to score on his debut in the UEFA Champions League at 19 years and 114 days, breaking the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored at age 20.

With the Turkey national football team, Güler also became the youngest player to score in a major international tournament in 2023 at 18 years and 114 days. Earlier, in March 2022, he became one of the youngest scorers in club competitions while playing for Fenerbahçe SK at just 17 years old.

Since joining Real Madrid, the Turkish star has made more than 100 appearances, scoring 12 La Liga goals. He is widely considered one of the club’s key young talents and an important player for the team’s future.
