After an inspection by FIFA-appointed experts, Kigali’s Pelé Stadium has been cleared to host international football competitions organized by the global governing body.
The assessment took place this week as FIFA’s delegation evaluated the stadium against international standards required for hosting global matches. Their report confirmed that the venue meets all technical and safety requirements for FIFA competitions.
Previously, the stadium could not host Rwanda Premier League night matches due to lighting problems, which have now been resolved.
Kigali Pelé Stadium will host its first FIFA event with the FIFA Series tournament, set to take place on March 26, 2026.
