The air force of Israel carried out new heavy strikes in the capital of Iran, Tehran, on Friday, March 13, 2026, targeting several military and security facilities.According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the attacks were conducted using fighter jets and drones.
The strikes reportedly targeted buildings linked to Iran’s elite military unit known as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as well as other security institutions.
Residents in several parts of Tehran reported hearing loud explosions early Friday morning after the strikes hit facilities believed to be used by military authorities.
Israeli officials described the operation as large-scale and wide-ranging, saying it was intended to weaken Iran’s military leadership and destroy key defense infrastructure.
The latest strikes come as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate. The two countries have been exchanging retaliatory attacks for nearly two weeks, raising fears of a wider conflict across the Middle East.
