The inaugural Siga Art Festival concluded on a high note with a vibrant concert held at the University of Rwanda’s Huye campus stadium on the night of March 21, 2026.
The three-day festival, hosted in , brought together artists and cultural enthusiasts from across Rwanda, celebrating art, music and heritage.
Headlining the closing concert were popular artists including , and , alongside other performers such as Mani Martin, Christopher, Kevin Kade, Bwiza, Rusine and Jules Sentore.
The festival kicked off on March 19 with a cultural caravan from Kigali to Huye, where participants explored historical sites along the way. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by local authorities, who engaged with the youth and artists in a celebratory atmosphere.
On the second day, attendees took part in a special walk dubbed “Intambwe ya Nyirarumaga”, aimed at honoring women’s contributions to art, culture and national development, in line with the spirit of Women’s Month.
Despite heavy rainfall earlier on the final day that raised concerns about the concert’s feasibility, the weather later cleared, allowing large crowds to gather and enjoy the performances.
Festival founder described the event as a major success, saying it exceeded expectations and left him both fulfilled and exhausted.
He expressed gratitude to fellow artists, sponsors, local authorities in Huye District, and the for ensuring security throughout the event.
The successful debut of the Siga Art Festival marks a promising new addition to Rwanda’s cultural calendar, highlighting the country’s growing creative industry.
