Russian state media has openly criticized and mocked Donald Trump over his handling of the ongoing conflict with Iran, portraying the situation as a failure for the United States.

During a televised debate, Russian presenter Roman Babayan questioned whether Washington’s military actions had achieved any real results, pointing out the contradiction between Trump’s claims of victory and Iran’s continued threats of retaliation.

Political analyst Vladimir Kornilov also cast doubt on Trump’s assertions, arguing that declaring success is premature while tensions remain high and global oil prices continue to rise.

Academic Oleg Barabanov criticized what he described as inconsistent messaging from Washington, noting that Trump has alternated between claiming near victory and warning that the conflict has barely begun. He suggested this reflects uncertainty within the US leadership.

Meanwhile, Professor Kirill Koktysh speculated that rising oil prices and geopolitical pressure could force the US to make concessions to Russia. He also warned that the political fallout from the conflict could threaten Trump’s position ahead of upcoming midterm elections.

Babayan went further, describing the situation as a strategic setback, comparing it to ongoing tensions involving Ukraine and suggesting the US is overstretched.

The commentary reflects a broader narrative in Russian media portraying the Iran conflict as a geopolitical misstep for Washington, emphasizing uncertainty and mounting pressure on the US administration.
