The Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement, MINUBUMWE, has organized a dialogue forum that will bring together Rwandans living in Europe to discuss the promotion of national unity and resilience.

The talks are scheduled to take place on 21 February 2026 in Paris, France. They will mainly involve young Rwandans born abroad or those who left Rwanda at a young age during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The meeting will also be attended by representatives of Rwandan community organizations from various European countries.

Organizers say the event has been designed as a space for dialogue, experience-sharing, and information exchange. It aims to deepen participants’ understanding of Rwanda’s journey toward unity, how the country has confronted past challenges, and to highlight opportunities for the diaspora to continue working closely with their homeland.

The forum will further provide an open platform for participants to express their personal experiences, their relationship with Rwanda, and ways in which Rwandans living abroad can preserve and promote Rwandan culture and values while residing in Europe.

Key discussion topics will include the role of youth in safeguarding culture, the contribution of associations and community groups to strengthening unity, the importance of families in passing on accurate history, and other issues linked to cohesion and civic responsibility.

The event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions with experts, testimonies, and interactive sessions.

Overall, the initiative is expected to help strengthen unity among Rwandans in the diaspora, reinforce national values, and encourage younger generations to embrace principles of solidarity, mutual respect, and resilience, while maintaining strong ties with Rwanda.
