U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch a massive strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field the world’s largest if Tehran continues its attacks on Gulf energy infrastructure.

Trump said Israel would refrain from targeting the facility again unless Iran strikes what he described as “an innocent party,” adding that in such a scenario, the U.S. would respond with overwhelming force.

The warning comes amid intensifying conflict involving Iran, Israel, and several Gulf states, raising fears of a broader regional crisis with global economic consequences.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has accused the United States and Israel of previously targeting its oil and gas facilities, including the strategically vital South Pars field.

Meanwhile, Qatar confirmed that its key energy hub in Ras Laffan Industrial City was struck by Iranian ballistic missiles, sustaining significant damage. The facility, operated by QatarEnergy, is central to the country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and global exports.

The attack reportedly occurred hours after an earlier strike, highlighting the escalation.

Across the region, energy infrastructure has increasingly become a target. In United Arab Emirates, gas operations were temporarily halted in Abu Dhabi after missile debris fell near key facilities, while Saudi Arabia has intercepted drones aimed at strategic sites.

Oil prices have surged in response, climbing above $110 per barrel as markets react to threats against critical supply routes and production facilities.

Security concerns have also spread to maritime routes. According to British maritime authorities, multiple vessels have been struck by unidentified projectiles in and around the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman since the conflict began.

Analysts warn that continued attacks on energy infrastructure and shipping lanes could disrupt global supply chains and push the Middle East closer to a full-scale regional war.
