The United States and Iran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire aimed at easing tensions that had been escalating between the two countries.

President Donald Trump described the agreement as a “complete victory,” emphasizing that Iran must allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the smooth flow of maritime trade and navigation.

Iran, on its part, stated that it is willing to halt its military activities provided that attacks against it are also stopped.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has expressed support for diplomatic dialogue and announced its readiness to host peace talks between the two sides on Friday in Islamabad, in an effort to find a lasting solution to the conflict.

Although Israel supports the ceasefire, it does not want Lebanon to be included in the agreement.

The conflict began in late February 2026, and the ceasefire is being viewed as an important step toward peace, although concerns remain about how it will be implemented.
