The Government of Iran has confirmed that the head of intelligence in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Gen. Maj. Majid Khademi, was killed in a strike on April 6, 2026.

In a statement released by the IRGC, the Iranian military said Khademi was killed in an attack carried out by the armed forces of the United States and Israel.

Khademi had assumed the position after replacing Mohammad Kazemi, who was also killed in Israeli strikes on June 15, 2025, during the 12-day clashes between the two countries.

In February 2026, following widespread protests in Iran, Khademi publicly accused US President Donald Trump of playing a role in fueling the demonstrations.

He claimed that more than ten foreign individuals, including people allegedly working with Israel, were involved in intensifying the protests at the time.
