The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has praised Arsenal F.C. for reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League and wished the club success in the next stage of the competition.

Arsenal secured a place in the semi-finals on April 15, 2026, after eliminating Sporting CP. The second leg at Emirates Stadium ended in a 0–0 draw, but the English side progressed thanks to their 1–0 victory in the first leg.

Shortly after the match, President Kagame posted a message on X congratulating the North London club, which has promoted Rwanda’s tourism for the past eight years through the Visit Rwanda partnership.

“Congratulations to our Visit Rwanda partner for reaching the UEFA semi-finals. We will continue supporting you in the next stage,” Kagame wrote.

Rwanda has tourism promotion partnerships with several European clubs including Arsenal F.C., Paris Saint‑Germain F.C. and Atlético Madrid. All three teams have now reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League this season.

President Kagame noted that he was pleased to see all the teams partnering with the Visit Rwanda campaign performing strongly and consistently in the competition.

“The performance of Atlético de Madrid, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain has remained strong and consistent. We look forward to the upcoming matches,” he added.

In the semi-finals, Arsenal F.C. will face Atlético Madrid, while Paris Saint‑Germain F.C. will take on Bayern Munich, which eliminated Real Madrid C.F. with a 6–4 aggregate victory.
